Full Stack Engineer (React / Python / Website & SEO)

Index is a UK-based technology company delivering end-to-end remote engineering and software solutions to global enterprises. The Full Stack Engineer will work across frontend, backend, and platform layers, building React and Next.js applications, contributing to Python and Ruby on Rails services, and optimizing websites for SEO, analytics, and performance in a modern, agile environment.

Index is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to work across frontend, backend, and platform layers, ensuring high-performance applications and technically optimized websites. This role combines React development, backend contributions in Python and Ruby on Rails, and ownership of SEO, analytics, and tracking implementations. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, design, and marketing teams to deliver scalable, optimized solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain React and Next.js applications, ensuring performance and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve frontend bugs and optimize Core Web Vitals
- Implement and manage SEO best practices, schema markup, sitemaps, and accessibility standards
- Configure and maintain analytics and tracking tools including Google Tag Manager and GA4
- Contribute to backend services using Python and Ruby on Rails
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines, testing, and code reviews to ensure deployment stability

Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6/7), and TypeScript
- Solid experience with React.js, Next.js, and modern frontend development
- Experience with Tailwind CSS, SASS, and responsive design
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as Python or Ruby on Rails
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, and CI/CD practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
