Job Description
xpate is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and deliver serverless backend services powering real-money fintech workflows. This role focuses on building robust AWS Lambda-based microservices, creating reliable API contracts, and implementing event-driven architectures with strong observability and testing discipline. The engineer will take ownership of production systems, ensuring performance, resilience, and clean execution across integrations and financial data flows.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement Lambda-first microservices handling payment flows and integrations.
- Develop REST APIs with type-safe validation using Zod and maintain stable contracts.
- Model data in DynamoDB and PostgreSQL based on access patterns and relational needs.
- Build event-driven systems using SQS, EventBridge, and Step Functions with retries and idempotency.
- Implement structured logging, distributed tracing, and actionable monitoring.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests using Mocha and Sinon.
Requirements:
- Strong backend engineering experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Proven production experience with AWS services including Lambda and DynamoDB.
- Solid understanding of serverless architecture and event-driven design.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools.
- Ability to ship high-quality code efficiently while maintaining engineering standards.
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
