Orion Group is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build and own the company’s core analytics layer. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Accounting, this role focuses on replacing fragmented, manual Excel-based reporting with scalable, production-grade dashboards and validated data models. The position is execution-driven, centered on delivering reliable analytics that directly inform financial, operational, and growth decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain BI dashboards used by Orion leadership.
- Translate existing management reports into scalable, validated analytics models.
- Source and integrate data from cloud warehouses, APIs, and business systems.
- Design unified data models combining financial, operational, and workforce datasets.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues and integration gaps.
- Document datasets, definitions, and recurring data patterns for long-term clarity.
Requirements:
- 5–8 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI roles.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience integrating external systems and APIs.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI or comparable visualization software.
- Experience working with ERP and financial systems data.
- Ability to operate independently and deliver pragmatic, high-impact solutions.
Success in this role includes migrating recurring Excel reports to BI dashboards, reducing manual reporting effort, improving reconciliation accuracy, and establishing dashboards as the primary source of truth for leadership.
