Staff Software Engineer, Add-on Operations

Mozilla is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Add-on Operations to support and modernize the addons.mozilla.org (AMO) platform. This role focuses on building resilient systems that improve the developer and reviewer experience while ensuring reliability, security, and ecosystem safety. The engineer will collaborate across engineering, product, and community teams to deliver scalable solutions that serve millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver major architectural improvements across the Add-ons stack  
- Enhance automated moderation pipelines, reviewer tools, and DevHub systems  
- Establish operational standards including SLOs, monitoring, and incident management  
- Improve platform reliability through deployments and observability practices  
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction and code reviews  
- Support trust, safety, and security initiatives within the add-ons ecosystem  

Requirements:
- Experience building and leading modern web application development  
- Strong expertise in Python/Django or similar backend frameworks  
- Experience with React and TypeScript for frontend development  
- Understanding of web security principles and ecosystem moderation practices  
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud  
- Strong collaboration skills within distributed and open-source environments
