Vox Media is seeking a Data Scientist to support its Consumer Revenue businesses by developing models and measurement frameworks that drive subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role operates within the Data team, contributing to analytics systems and personalized audience experiences across multiple brands. The Data Scientist will own business problems end-to-end, building scalable tools and translating analytical insights into actionable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop churn risk models, lifetime value calculations, and retention impact analyses
- Design attribution models and evaluate paid marketing performance
- Build dashboards, tools, and measurement frameworks to assess acquisition and engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with Data and Consumer Revenue leads to define analytical approaches and tradeoffs
- Partner with data engineers and analysts to support reporting and measurement needs
- Contribute to audience-facing initiatives such as recommendation systems when required
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data science and analytics workflows
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake
- Demonstrated ability to solve business problems using data-driven methodologies
- Experience designing and measuring experiments
- Ability to independently manage projects from data transformation to model deployment
- Familiarity with AI tools to accelerate analytics and workflow automation
