A leading AI research and development team is seeking a freelance Math Expert (SME) to ensure rigor, accuracy, and quality in pure mathematics datasets and annotated proofs. The role involves reviewing outputs, defining success metrics, guiding contributors, and providing technical and mathematical oversight to improve AI training data and formal reasoning resources.

This freelance Math Expert (SME) role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of rigor, accuracy, and clarity in pure mathematics datasets used for AI training and research. The expert will define technical success criteria, review outputs, guide contributors, and optimize workflows to maintain consistency and quality across annotated proofs, theorem classifications, and symbolic reasoning data.

Responsibilities:
- Define domain-specific quality success metrics and standards for pure mathematics datasets.
- Develop SOPs, QA rubrics, and reference materials to ensure outputs meet rigorous mathematical standards.
- Review proof annotations, symbolic reasoning samples, and theorem classifications for correctness and logical coherence.
- Conduct structured QA passes on deliverables, track defects, and provide remediation feedback.
- Provide expert guidance on notation, LaTeX conventions, and symbolic logic frameworks for reproducibility.
- Participate in technical vetting of contributors and provide structured feedback to improve mathematical outputs.
- Advise on project scoping, domain selection, dataset formats, and edge cases such as nonstandard proofs or advanced symbolic representations.
- Build defect tracking systems, summarize error trends, and recommend workflow or rubric improvements.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and help refine future quality standards.

Requirements:
- Advanced academic or professional background in pure mathematics (e.g., algebra, topology, analysis, number theory, mathematical logic, geometry).
- 5+ years of professional or research experience in formal mathematical reasoning or proof development.
- Proven ability to enforce high standards of mathematical rigor, clarity, and consistency.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex mathematical reasoning to technical and non-technical reviewers.
- Experience producing or reviewing proof annotations, mathematical documentation, or educational materials.
- Attention to detail, adherence to documentation discipline, and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Fluency in written and spoken English with precise command of mathematical language and notation.
