The Technical Sales Territory Representative is responsible for supporting customers in the paper and machinery industry by providing technical solutions, conducting field visits, and maintaining strong relationships. This role requires hands-on technical knowledge, sales acumen, and extensive travel to manage accounts and generate new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site sales, gear inspections, and product demonstrations to understand customer needs.
- Build and maintain customer relationships and communicate technical solutions effectively.
- Generate leads, submit quotes, and follow through to sales completion.
- Document and track business opportunities, including lead potential and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions in the company database.
- Provide field-based technical support and troubleshoot customer issues.
- Manage on-site projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain monthly itineraries, submit daily briefs, and weekly progress reports.
- Collaborate with technical teams to share information and provide integrated solutions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma, trade school, or college degree; equivalent experience accepted.
- Minimum two years of technical troubleshooting experience; paper industry preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50%.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and safely navigate physical work environments.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
