Carrot is seeking a Sr. Director of Communications to lead PR, thought leadership, and executive communications for its global fertility and family care platform. This role is responsible for elevating Carrot’s voice in digital health and virtual care, managing media relations, crafting executive narratives, and driving social and B2B2C storytelling. The position partners closely with the CEO, CMO, Marketing, and cross-functional teams to shape Carrot’s external profile, strengthen industry authority, and align communications with business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned with business priorities.
- Craft narrative frameworks and messaging architectures for executives and the organization.
- Lead earned media strategy, proactively pitching stories and maintaining relationships with trade and business press.
- Serve as a trusted communications partner to CEO and CMO, ghostwriting op-eds, bylines, speeches, and posts.
- Manage crisis communications, developing playbooks, and responding to sensitive situations.
- Own social media strategy and editorial calendars, optimizing content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and other channels.
- Tailor communications to multiple stakeholders across B2B2C ecosystem, including employers, payers, consultants, and consumers.
- Lead PR agency partnerships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to source stories and align campaigns.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in communications or PR, including digital health, virtual care, or healthcare technology.
- Proven success leading PR and executive communications for mission-driven, high-growth companies.
- Deep media relations experience with strong existing contacts in healthcare and digital health media.
- Track record in executive thought leadership, including ghostwriting for senior leaders.
- Hands-on crisis and issue communications experience.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or scaling communications functions at early-stage or growth companies.
- Experience working with CEOs, CMOs, and scientific/medical experts to translate complex concepts.
- Multi-market or global PR experience.
- Experience mentoring communications or social media talent.
