The United Firm is seeking a Mandamus Immigration Attorney to handle federal litigation, including Writs of Mandamus and Administrative Procedure Act (APA) lawsuits. The role involves representing clients whose immigration applications or petitions have been unreasonably delayed, providing strategic legal advice, and managing diverse immigration cases. The attorney will work closely with the Managing Immigration Attorney and the broader Immigration Team to ensure effective client representation and case progression.
Responsibilities:
- Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic legal solutions to clients.
- Handle federal court litigation, focusing on Mandamus and APA cases.
- Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
- Manage and prioritize a high-volume caseload of immigration cases.
- Conduct intake and consultations with detained individuals.
- Prepare, review, and adjust immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law changes.
- Develop strategy and prepare clients or witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
- Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in immigration law, with at least 1 year handling Mandamus and APA litigation preferred.
- Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, citizenship, EOIR, detained cases, and other USCIS applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Team-oriented with collaborative mindset.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with case management software is a plus.
