Job Description

 

Plan International is seeking a Head of Security Training Programmes to lead the global design, delivery, and continuous improvement of security training across the organisation. Operating within the Global Safety and Security Team, this role ensures that security management enables, rather than restricts, the delivery of Plan International’s mission in complex and high-risk environments. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on training delivery and extensive international engagement.


Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver security training courses and workshops globally.
- Create complex technical training materials covering areas such as first aid, trauma response, and crisis management.
- Certify trainers and manage induction and professional development programmes for security managers.
- Support regional and country teams in strengthening local security risk management capacity.
- Promote inclusive, intersectional, and positive security culture aligned with Security for All principles.
- Encourage incident reporting and integrate lessons learned into future training and operations.


Requirements:
- Proven experience developing and delivering technical security training programmes.
- Strong expertise in security risk management and assessment.
- Experience working in high-risk or conflict-affected environments.
- Background within international NGOs and leading diverse, remote teams.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills.
- High organisational skills with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
