Brand Director

The Brand Director role leads the vision, strategy, and execution of brand design across client and internal work, guiding multidisciplinary teams to create meaningful, scalable brand systems that connect storytelling, craft, and business impact in a digital-first environment.

Metalab is seeking a Brand Director to lead its brand practice with vision, craft, and strategic clarity. This role is responsible for shaping how brands come to life across digital, product, and experiential touchpoints while building on Metalab’s legacy of design excellence. As a senior leader, you will balance hands-on creative contribution with mentorship, client partnership, and long-term brand strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Define and evolve the creative vision for brand design across Metalab engagements.
- Lead and mentor brand designers through all phases of the brand process.
- Partner with founders and executives to articulate and scale digital-first brand strategies.
- Oversee the creation of cohesive brand systems spanning identity, product, marketing, and motion.
- Drive creative direction for major initiatives, including storytelling frameworks and guidelines.
- Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and elevate critique and craft standards.

Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in brand design, creative direction, or design leadership.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale, multidisciplinary brand engagements end to end.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating mastery of identity systems and digital brand expression.
- Experience presenting to executive stakeholders and aligning creativity with strategy.
- Proficiency with modern design tools and understanding of motion and interaction.
- Strong mentorship, facilitation, and communication skills.
