Software Engineer I, Machine Learning

Interview Kickstart is seeking a Software Engineer I, Machine Learning to help design, build, and deploy intelligent AI-driven systems that power its next-generation learning platform. In this role, you will collaborate with experienced Applied AI/ML engineers, product managers, and data teams to create scalable, reliable, and high-impact machine learning solutions. The position emphasizes an AI-first mindset, hands-on development, and continuous improvement of production-ready agentic systems.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain LLM-powered agent pipelines and APIs for real product use cases.
- Implement multi-step agent workflows using modern orchestration frameworks.
- Optimize, debug, and improve existing AI agents with a focus on reliability and performance.
- Build tests and evaluation mechanisms to measure agent behavior and quality.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers on system design and implementation.
- Optionally contribute to MLOps workflows and deployment pipelines if experienced.

Requirements:
- 0.5+ years of full-time experience building and deploying AI agents using modern LLM frameworks.
- Strong experience with Python and backend frameworks such as Django, DRF, or FastAPI.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI-first problem-solving approaches.
- Experience with vector databases and semantic search technologies.
- Solid debugging, problem-solving, and data structures and algorithms skills.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team.
