Sr. Sales Engineer, South Africa

Proofpoint is a global cybersecurity leader protecting people, data, and AI agents across email, cloud, and collaboration tools. As a Sr. Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical sales lead for South Africa Named Accounts, delivering expert guidance on People-Centric Security solutions, collaborating with account teams, and providing real-world insights to product, marketing, and engineering teams. This role focuses on pre-sales strategy, solution design, and technical customer engagement.

As a Sr. Sales Engineer in South Africa, you will be the technical lead during the pre-sales process, collaborating with account teams to deliver tailored security solutions while providing strategic insights to internal teams.

Responsibilities:
- Partner with South Africa Named Accounts to develop and execute account penetration strategies.
- Design, present, and champion complex People-Centric Security solutions across the Proofpoint portfolio.
- Provide actionable customer insights to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
- Become an expert in Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Ensure compliance with ISO, NIST, and MITRE standards in solution design and delivery.
- Represent Proofpoint at industry seminars, trade shows, and client presentations as required.

Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Sales/System Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior product support.
- Strong expertise in enterprise email solutions, email authentication, advanced persistent threats, network security, cloud security, and shadow IT.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting to technical staff and C-suite executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; CISSP or other security certifications preferred.
