The Director, Recruiting and Candidate Experience is responsible for leading and scaling the global recruiting function at Chess.com. This role owns the end-to-end hiring lifecycle, ensuring a high-quality, respectful, and consistent candidate experience while supporting the company’s long-term growth and mission. The position balances strategic leadership with hands-on execution and partners closely with executives and department leaders across a fully remote organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead recruiting strategy and execution across a globally distributed workforce.
- Design and implement a multi-year talent acquisition strategy aligned with business goals.
- Own hiring outcomes, balancing speed, quality, and long-term talent health.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing recruiting team.
- Architect and continuously improve recruiting infrastructure and processes.
- Use recruiting analytics to inform decisions, improve outcomes, and scale responsibly.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition, including 4+ years in leadership roles.
- Proven experience recruiting for remote and globally distributed teams.
- Strong background hiring for tech or gaming roles in competitive markets.
- Expertise in recruitment technology stacks, sourcing tools, and analytics.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Experience designing equitable, fair, and inclusive hiring practices.
