Chief Project Engineer

Metso is seeking a Chief Project Engineer to join its Grinding Product Engineering team, supporting upgrades, modifications, and new product development for grinding equipment. This role is critical to delivering innovative engineering solutions, supporting equipment reliability, and expanding the aftermarket product portfolio. As a Chief Project Engineer, you will lead engineering activities related to equipment upgrades, modifications, and new product development within Metso’s Grinding Product Engineering team. You will provide technical expertise during equipment breakdowns and repairs, ensuring efficient maintenance solutions and contributing to the continuous improvement of product reliability and performance.

Your responsibilities include reviewing equipment designs and specifications, performing design calculations, supervising technical staff, and developing detailed engineering documentation for repair, refurbishment, and procurement activities. You will collaborate closely with Product Line teams to deliver solutions aligned with business strategy and customer needs.

You will design innovative engineering solutions, enhance existing products, and ensure technical competency within the team through training and structured documentation. The role also involves managing design review risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting quality assurance during manufacturing and supply processes.

In addition, you will coordinate project timelines and budgets, interface directly with clients, and supervise assigned staff. The position may require up to 20% domestic and international travel and offers hybrid working options to support flexibility and collaboration.
