This Controller role leads core accounting and compliance operations, partnering cross-functionally to scale financial systems, ensure audit readiness, and support strategic growth initiatives while maintaining strong financial integrity and operational efficiency.

The Controller role at Federato is a senior finance position responsible for overseeing accounting operations, compliance, and financial integrity in a fast-growing, product-led SaaS environment. This role partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure scalable financial processes that support Federato’s mission and long-term growth.

Responsibilities:
- Own day-to-day management of accounting operations and financial close processes
- Manage compliance functions including payroll, billing, collections, tax, treasury, and audit
- Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and RevOps on contracts, billing, and revenue processes
- Identify and implement workflow improvements using tools or AI-powered solutions
- Maintain audit readiness and compliance with U.S. GAAP and jurisdictional standards
- Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of financial reports and statutory filings

Requirements:
- 10+ years of finance and accounting experience
- Demonstrated accounting leadership in high-transaction or SaaS environments
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, tax compliance, and revenue recognition
- Experience documenting accounting policies and maintaining internal controls
- Familiarity with financial systems such as QuickBooks Online, BILL, and related tools
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and support strategic initiatives
