Mercor is seeking a Bilingual Expert fluent in English and Arabic to support a translation quality review project in collaboration with a major AI research partner. This short-term, remote role plays a direct part in improving the linguistic accuracy, fluency, and cultural appropriateness of AI-generated Arabic content used across the Middle East.
Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate AI-generated Arabic translations for fluency, clarity, and overall accuracy.
- Identify mistranslations, tone inconsistencies, and unnatural or awkward phrasing.
- Recommend edits that reflect natural, idiomatic Arabic usage common across Middle Eastern regions.
- Provide detailed written feedback on linguistic quality, cultural nuance, and regional appropriateness.
- Maintain a fast and efficient reading pace while ensuring a high level of precision and consistency.
- Apply linguistic judgment to ensure content aligns with real-world language usage and expectations.
Requirements:
- Native or near-native fluency in both Arabic and English.
- Strong familiarity with Arabic as commonly used across the Middle East.
- At least 1 year of experience in translation, localization, editorial review, or similar language-focused work.
- Excellent attention to detail, reading comprehension, and analytical skills.
- Strong written communication skills and cultural awareness.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
