The Payroll Specialist – North America is responsible for overseeing payroll and benefits operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality service delivery. This role requires deep expertise in payroll systems, legislative requirements, and operational processes to support payroll activities across North America.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight of payroll processes including prioritization, troubleshooting, and daily operations
- Manage third-party administrators, vendors, and internal business sources for payroll inputs
- Serve as an escalation point for payroll issues, approvals, and remediation decisions
- Perform manual retro pay, retro deduction calculations, and arrears management
- Support absence management including PTO, disability pay, and leave integrations
- Manage metrics, audits, disaster recovery testing, and year-end payroll activities
Requirements:
- CPP designation (USA) required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years in HR operations or payroll
- Strong professional experience in payroll, benefits, or service-oriented operations
- Proficiency with HR systems such as Workday and payroll-related technologies
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
