Ethos is seeking an experienced Staff or Principal Product Designer to help shape the next generation of consumer-facing products within its life insurance and financial wellness platform. This role plays a critical part in defining product vision, elevating design quality, and ensuring customer needs are central to every experience. You will work within a small, high-impact design team and collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems with thoughtful, scalable design solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design strategy across multiple consumer-facing product areas
- Define and evolve the overall user experience vision for Ethos products
- Design and iterate on new and existing products from concept through launch
- Balance incremental improvements with larger, high-impact design initiatives
- Partner with executive stakeholders across product, engineering, and marketing
- Improve product development processes through strong cross-functional collaboration
Requirements:
- 5+ years of product design experience for Senior level or 7+ years for Principal level
- At least 2 years of recent experience at a venture-backed startup
- Strong background designing in-house, direct-to-consumer digital products
- Experience working in fast-paced, experiment-driven environments
- Proven ability to articulate design decisions with clear rationale and intent
- Demonstrated experience measuring design impact on user and business outcomes
