Business Controller

Our client is a fast-growing financial services company operating in a dynamic, high-performance environment with a strong focus on financial discipline and scalability. The Business Controller role sits within the Finance team and is responsible for reporting, budgeting, financial control, and strategic decision support. This position plays a critical role in supporting growth, investor reporting, and long-term financial health through robust analysis and governance.

Our client is seeking a Business Controller to join their Finance team in a newly created, high-impact role. Reporting to the VP Finance, this position is responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting, and financial control while supporting operational and strategic decision-making. The role plays a central part in strengthening financial governance, enabling growth, and ensuring transparency for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Produce weekly and monthly finance dashboards, management packs, and cost centre reports
- Lead budgeting, reforecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Prepare quarterly board materials and monthly investor financial reports
- Support financial control over accounts payable spend, challenging costs and variances
- Assess new business cases for financial viability, including ROI, breakeven, and cash flow
- Build and maintain a central repository of vendor contracts and monitor renewals and cancellations

Requirements:
- 7+ years’ combined experience in financial accounting, management accounting, or commercial finance
- Fully qualified CA, ACA, ACCA, ACMA, or CFA
- Strong experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills with strong analytical capability
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and operate in a fast-paced environment
