Lead Analytics Engineer, Business Intelligence

BARK is a U.S.-based pet products company known for BarkBox and a growing portfolio of toys, treats, food, and health offerings for dogs. As a Lead Analytics Engineer, this role supports BARK’s global expansion by strengthening its Business Intelligence capabilities. The position focuses on building scalable data models, defining trusted metrics, and enabling self-service analytics that inform strategic, data-driven decisions across the organization.

BARK is seeking a Lead Analytics Engineer to join its central Business Intelligence team and help shape how data informs decision-making across the company. This role blends advanced technical expertise with strong analytical communication, supporting internal stakeholders with reliable, well-governed, and scalable analytics solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Own and contribute to the data-modeling roadmap using modular dbt development practices.
- Design, build, and maintain the company’s semantic layer to support consistent metrics and AI-ready analytics.
- Develop governed, intuitive data exploration experiences in Looker.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define key business metrics and deliver actionable insights.
- Lead testing, documentation, and data governance standards to ensure data quality and transparency.
- Deliver end-to-end data products that support growth, retention, and financial performance.

Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Analytics.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and dbt.
- Strong experience with BigQuery or comparable cloud data warehouses.
- Proven expertise in semantic layer design or governed metrics frameworks.
- Extensive experience with Looker and LookML development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate data into clear narratives.
