Technical Lead

Tether is a global fintech company leading digital finance innovation through blockchain-based infrastructure and products such as USDT. This role leads development of cross-platform peer-to-peer applications, defining technical direction and collaborating with the Holepunch ecosystem. The position focuses on building scalable, decentralized applications while mentoring teams and driving high-quality engineering practices.

Tether is seeking a Technical Lead to drive the development of cross-platform peer-to-peer applications using the Pear Runtime and Holepunch ecosystem. This role provides technical leadership, defines architecture, and ensures high-quality execution across distributed engineering teams. The position bridges internal development efforts with external collaborators while delivering scalable, decentralized applications with strong performance and usability.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between internal teams and Holepunch engineers.
- Define technical architecture and translate product requirements into actionable development plans.
- Lead development of cross-platform applications using React Native and Electron.
- Mentor engineering teams and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Ensure applications are modular, scalable, and follow best engineering practices.
- Contribute to open-source modules and support external developers building on the platform.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong experience with React Native, Electron, Node.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience building local-first, peer-to-peer applications and modular codebases.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts including data synchronization and networking.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git workflows, and cross-platform deployment.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration in a global remote environment.
