GIS Systems Architect

The GIS Systems Architect will design and manage scalable geospatial system architectures, support cloud and enterprise GIS environments, and provide technical leadership to ensure secure, compliant, and high-performing geospatial solutions for federal programs.

Ardent is seeking a GIS Systems Architect to design, implement, and maintain advanced geospatial systems supporting federal government initiatives. This role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and compliant GIS architectures while collaborating with stakeholders to align technology solutions with mission objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable geospatial system architectures aligned with federal standards  
- Conduct gap analyses and define technical requirements for GIS solutions  
- Evaluate and recommend emerging geospatial technologies and enterprise tools  
- Lead integration across cloud and on-premises environments  
- Manage geospatial data infrastructure including databases and repositories  
- Develop testing strategies to ensure system performance and reliability  

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Geospatial Science, or related field  
- Proven experience as a Systems Architect in GIS or enterprise environments  
- Strong expertise in GIS technologies, especially Esri products  
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure  
- Knowledge of federal compliance frameworks like FISMA and Section 508  
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
