Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Cloud Field Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers designing and delivering cloud solutions for enterprise customers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of field engineers across presales and professional services
- Design and implement cloud solutions using technologies like Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Engage with customers as a technical advisor during presales and delivery phases
- Manage team performance, development, and project execution
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to align on strategy and delivery
- Promote best practices in engineering, architecture, and customer engagement
- Participate in leadership activities and drive team direction
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph)
- Experience with Linux systems and networking
- Background in technical presales or customer-facing engineering roles
- Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring engineers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel up to 25% for events and customer engagements
