Canonical is seeking an Alliances Field Engineer to support strategic partners in adopting and deploying open-source infrastructure and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and design cloud solutions using Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and related technologies
- Support partners in deploying solutions across public and private cloud environments
- Integrate open-source tools such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, and NGINX
- Develop joint reference architectures and validate technical solutions
- Conduct onboarding sessions, workshops, and technical presentations for partners
- Collaborate with partners to build go-to-market strategies and technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and provide expert guidance across the full open-source stack
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure
- Experience designing solutions in public or private cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting
- Strong troubleshooting and system architecture skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to work in a customer-facing role and manage partner relationships
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with LXD, Juju, and Snap technologies
- Experience with data center infrastructure and networking
