Counterpart is seeking a Controller to oversee its financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting and regulatory standards. This role involves managing accounting processes, financial reporting, and internal controls while supporting the company’s growth in the insurance sector. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable systems and maintain financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and cash management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and insurance accounting standards
- Lead audits and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors
- Develop internal controls and scalable financial systems
- Collaborate with teams to integrate accounting workflows with business operations
Requirements:
- 7+ years of accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- CPA certification with strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting
- Experience in insurance or financial services industry
- Expertise in ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Strong understanding of compliance, audits, and internal controls
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
