Remote is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Elixir) to join its distributed engineering team and contribute to building a global HR platform. This role involves designing scalable backend systems, developing APIs, and improving platform performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions that support global workforce management.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend systems using Elixir and Phoenix
- Develop APIs and integrations with performance and maintainability in mind
- Lead development of major projects and contribute to cross-team initiatives
- Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
- Debug and resolve technical issues across systems
- Mentor engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Elixir and backend system development
- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Jenkins
- Ability to design scalable and maintainable systems
