Operations Director, Payments

Sporty is hiring an Operations Director, Payments to lead and optimize global payment operations across its platform. This role focuses on improving payment performance, managing fraud and risk, and delivering a seamless payment experience for millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities:
- Define and manage payment operations strategy and core KPIs (acceptance rates, performance, conversion, compliance, cost)
- Lead fraud prevention and risk management strategies to protect company assets
- Analyze payment trends and optimize processes to improve customer experience
- Monitor performance metrics and implement data-driven improvements
- Oversee investigations into fraudulent activities and ensure proper resolution
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to solve challenges
- Recruit, lead, and develop a global team of payment specialists
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and evolving payment systems
- Establish and enforce policies, compliance standards, and operational procedures
- Ensure timely resolution of payment-related user issues
- Act as the primary point of contact with payment partners for issue resolution

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or related field
- Advanced knowledge of global payment systems and regional regulations
- Proven experience in payment operations, fraud, risk, and KYC processes
- Strong leadership experience managing and scaling teams
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills using data and metrics
- Ability to solve complex payment-related issues
- Strong understanding of compliance and risk management
- Fluent in written and spoken English
