Job Description

 

Mindrift is seeking a Physics Researcher with strong Python skills to contribute to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems. This freelance project-based role focuses on designing rigorous physics problems, validating scientific computations, and assessing the accuracy and reasoning of AI-generated solutions. Contributors will apply professional physics expertise and analytical methods to help improve AI models that solve complex scientific problems. The role requires strong theoretical understanding, programming proficiency, and the ability to evaluate multi-step reasoning processes used by AI systems.


Responsibilities:
- Design advanced physics problems that reflect real-world scientific and engineering challenges.
- Evaluate AI-generated physics solutions for accuracy, assumptions, and logical reasoning.
- Validate calculations and simulations using Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.
- Apply structured scoring frameworks to assess multi-step AI reasoning and solution quality.
- Identify weaknesses in AI problem-solving approaches and provide feedback for improvement.
- Contribute insights that help refine AI models and improve scientific reasoning capabilities.


Requirements:
- Degree in Physics or a related discipline such as Engineering Physics or Thermodynamics.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in physics research or applied physics.
- Strong Python programming skills for numerical analysis and simulation validation.
- Excellent written English proficiency for technical communication and documentation.
- Ability to analyze complex quantitative problems and validate multi-step reasoning.
- Reliable internet connection and ability to work independently on project-based tasks.
