Job Description

 

This remote position is designed for a data engineer responsible for building and maintaining reliable data infrastructure that supports analytics and business intelligence initiatives. The role focuses on designing scalable data pipelines, implementing data transformations, and ensuring high performance across the organization’s data ecosystem.


The data engineer will work with modern data tools and cloud infrastructure to manage ELT workflows and data lake architectures. The position involves close collaboration with analytics, BI, and engineering teams to ensure that data systems support business needs and provide accurate, timely insights. The role also requires monitoring data pipelines, troubleshooting workflow issues, and continuously optimizing performance and cost efficiency.


Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Apache Airflow
- Create and optimize data tables in AWS Athena for efficient query performance
- Build and manage SQL transformations using DBT for modular data modeling
- Optimize data workflows to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform for data environments
- Monitor, validate, and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure data integrity


Requirements:
- At least one year of professional experience in data engineering or ELT workflows
- Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and data modeling techniques
- Experience building and managing Airflow DAGs for workflow orchestration
- Experience using DBT for data transformations and modular data pipelines
- Familiarity with AWS services including S3 and Athena within data lake architectures
- Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure automation is considered a plus
