Head of Developer Experience

The Head of Developer Experience leads strategy and execution for developer platforms, CI/CD systems, and engineering workflows to improve productivity, reliability, and software delivery across the organization.

Galaxy is seeking a Head of Developer Experience to lead the strategy and execution of internal developer platforms and software delivery systems. This role focuses on improving engineering productivity by building scalable tools, automation pipelines, and deployment platforms that enable high-velocity development in a secure and regulated environment. The Head of Developer Experience will collaborate closely with engineering, security, infrastructure, and product teams to design modern developer workflows and ensure reliable, automated releases into production systems.

Responsibilities:
- Define and lead the long-term developer experience strategy and platform roadmap
- Manage and mentor a CI/CD engineering team responsible for build and deployment automation
- Design automated deployment pipelines that enable safe, scalable production releases
- Develop internal developer platforms, tools, and frameworks that improve productivity
- Partner with infrastructure and SRE teams to ensure reliability, resilience, and observability
- Establish engineering standards, documentation, and best practices across development teams

Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience including leadership in developer platforms or DevOps
- Proven experience managing engineering teams and large-scale software delivery systems
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure platforms such as AWS
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Experience implementing modern CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, FluxCD, or Harness
