Job Description

 

Adaptive Biotechnologies is seeking a Senior Director of Clinical Product Development to lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for the development of innovative clinical assays and diagnostic products. This leadership role oversees scientific, bioinformatics, and software algorithm development efforts while supporting the generation of real-world data and advancing product capabilities for clinical laboratory and manufacturing environments. The position requires strategic leadership, technical expertise in next-generation sequencing technologies, and strong collaboration across departments to guide clinical product development from concept through commercialization.


Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage scientific, bioinformatics, and algorithm development teams responsible for clinical product development
- Oversee assay development, feasibility studies, verification and validation activities, and new indication research
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including research, medical affairs, software, regulatory, and commercial groups
- Communicate development strategies, timelines, and results to executive leadership and key stakeholders
- Provide scientific mentorship and guide decision-making for product development initiatives
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and represent the company in customer-facing engagements


Requirements:
- PhD or advanced degree in molecular genetics, immunology, bioengineering, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in diagnostics, medical devices, or life sciences companies
- Demonstrated experience managing managers and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of NGS immunosequencing data and complex statistical analysis
- Experience working within regulated product development environments under design control
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO, CLIA, CAP, FDA, IVDR, or GxP
