Job Description

 

Remote is seeking an Engineering Team Leader to guide a small product engineering team while contributing directly to product development. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on engineering work, helping teams deliver high-quality software while supporting the growth and development of engineers. The team leader will play a key role in maintaining strong team dynamics, guiding engineering practices, and ensuring successful delivery of product initiatives within a distributed remote environment.


Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of 3 to 5 engineers across backend and frontend development.
- Contribute directly to product development and engineering tasks alongside the team.
- Support hiring processes and participate in onboarding new engineering team members.
- Provide regular feedback and coaching to help team members grow professionally.
- Promote strong collaboration, communication, and healthy team dynamics.
- Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, efficient processes, and high-quality development standards.


Requirements:
- Experience managing engineering teams with at least two direct reports.
- Strong backend development experience using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles and development best practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to inspire team members and foster a supportive team environment.
