Mob Entertainment is seeking an Engineering Director to lead the technical vision and engineering organization behind its growing portfolio of video game projects. The role oversees gameplay engineering, systems architecture, and development operations while ensuring that technical execution aligns with creative vision and production goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance game systems and maintain the technical quality expected from a leading independent game studio.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement the studio’s technical strategy across gameplay systems, tools, and platform support
- Oversee the development of gameplay mechanics, character systems, AI features, and physics interactions
- Lead the architecture and implementation of core game systems and engine integrations
- Manage and mentor engineering teams including technical leads and senior engineers
- Partner with production, design, and art teams to align technical execution with game vision
- Oversee build pipelines, version control workflows, and development operations processes
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in game engineering including gameplay or systems development
- At least 3 years experience in a senior engineering leadership or director role
- Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and C++ for real-time game development
- Experience shipping at least one AAA or high-quality indie or mid-scale game title
- Deep understanding of game architecture, systems design, and performance optimization
- Experience leading engineering teams through full production cycles
