Tether is seeking a Research Engineer Intern (Video/Multimodal LLM) to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art foundation models and distributed training systems. This internship offers MSc and PhD candidates the opportunity to engage in advanced AI research while collaborating with global engineering teams on real-world applications of large language and multimodal models.
Responsibilities:
- Research and develop state-of-the-art large language, vision, and multimodal models
- Implement model applications including pre-training, supervised fine-tuning, post-training, and inference
- Optimize distributed training frameworks for large-scale multi-node GPU environments
- Collaborate across teams to integrate foundation models into business scenarios
- Contribute to open-source advancements in LLM and multimodal AI research
- Continuously evaluate and improve model performance, scalability, and efficiency
Requirements:
- Current MSc or PhD candidate in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Research experience in LLMs, computer vision, or multimodal AI
- Proficiency in PyTorch and deep learning frameworks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with distributed model training concepts
