Job Description

 

Mutual of Omaha is seeking a Data Scientist to design and build agentic AI systems that bridge traditional statistical modeling with advanced AI orchestration. This role partners with business stakeholders to translate analytical needs into production-ready AI solutions, ensuring seamless integration across data pipelines, backend systems, and conversational interfaces. The position emphasizes production-grade design, reliability, and scalability within AWS cloud environments.


Responsibilities:
- Translate stakeholder requirements into technical specifications for AI agents and analytical systems.
- Perform advanced data manipulation using SQL, Python, and R across structured and unstructured sources.
- Develop and orchestrate autonomous AI agents using frameworks such as LangGraph.
- Design modular, secure, and scalable AI systems leveraging AWS services including Bedrock and SageMaker.
- Build observability frameworks to monitor accuracy, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of AI models.
- Conduct research and prototyping to refine agent behaviors and orchestration workflows prior to production scaling.


Requirements:
- Graduate degree in an analytical field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of experience building AI agents using orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with R preferred.
- Experience developing within AWS cloud environments, including Lambda and LLM ecosystems.
- Solid background in machine learning and statistical validation techniques.
- Production-focused mindset emphasizing reliability, scalability, and security.
