Accountant/Bookkeeper

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance while supporting budgeting, internal controls, and financial oversight in a fully remote, high-growth startup environment.

Spotter AI is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with US GAAP standards. This full-time remote role supports financial oversight within a fast-growing trucking and technology startup. The position requires strong organizational skills, accuracy in financial reporting, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of compliance and internal control.

Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations  
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP  
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation  
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis  
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations  
- Support internal controls and collaborate with external tax professionals for filings  

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field  
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills  
- Strong understanding of US GAAP principles  
- Experience with inventory management and reconciliation  
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills  
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
