Tether is seeking a Head of Licensing and Regulatory Authorisations to lead the development and execution of its global regulatory authorisations strategy. This senior leadership role oversees multi-jurisdictional licensing initiatives, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory frameworks while enabling sustainable market expansion. The position works closely with regional regulatory teams, legal, compliance, product, and executive leadership to coordinate global authorisation efforts across digital asset and fintech operations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a unified global licensing strategy across key jurisdictions
- Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory applications in coordination with regional teams
- Serve as central coordination point for cross-regional licensing and authorisation activities
- Support and guide regulatory engagements with supervisory authorities
- Ensure operational readiness aligned with local governance, capital, and reporting requirements
- Lead and mentor global regulatory and licensing personnel to promote consistent execution
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory licensing, regulatory affairs, or compliance within financial services, fintech, or digital assets
- Proven experience managing complex, multi-jurisdictional regulatory authorisation processes
- Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks and supervisory expectations
- Experience leading regional or matrixed teams across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong project management and stakeholder coordination capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive-level engagement experience
