AI Engineer

Martell Group is a venture studio founded by entrepreneur and investor Dan Martell, building scalable companies across Media, B2B SaaS, and AI. The AI Engineer will serve as a core builder of an AI-powered CFO platform designed to replace manual spreadsheets with real-time financial visibility, intelligent bookkeeping, and automated accounts receivable and payable workflows for founders.

Martell Group is seeking an AI Engineer to join as an early core team member building an AI-powered CFO platform for founders. This platform replaces manual financial tracking with real-time data aggregation, intelligent bookkeeping, and automated financial workflows. The role involves full-stack ownership and hands-on development across AI-driven financial systems.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js  
- Integrate third-party APIs including Stripe, Shopify, QuickBooks, Xero, and Plaid  
- Build AI-driven workflows using agent frameworks for automated bookkeeping and collections  
- Develop algorithms for cash flow forecasting, margin analysis, and profitability tracking  
- Contribute to frontend development using Vue and TypeScript  
- Refactor and optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and abstraction  

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend-focused engineer  
- Experience building end-to-end SaaS, AI, or fintech platforms  
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and microservices architecture  
- Hands-on experience integrating financial or payment APIs  
- Experience working with LLMs such as Gemini, Claude, or OpenAI  
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to ship production-ready features quickly
