Senior Engineering Manager, Product Engineering

The Senior Engineering Manager, Product Engineering leads frontend and backend teams, owns significant system architecture decisions, and drives scalable SaaS product development while mentoring engineers and shaping technical strategy.

Optimal Dynamics is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager, Product Engineering to lead and scale its product engineering organization. In this role, you will oversee frontend and backend engineers, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate closely with product, analytics, and design teams to deliver scalable logistics solutions. You will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, driving excellence in engineering standards and agile delivery practices.

Responsibilities:
- Lead technical design discussions and drive architectural decisions for scalable distributed systems
- Manage and mentor a team of frontend and backend engineers, fostering growth and accountability
- Collaborate with product and analytics teams to define project scope and deliverables
- Champion engineering best practices including automated testing and code quality standards
- Iterate on agile processes to improve team effectiveness and delivery speed
- Oversee project execution from conception through production deployment

Requirements:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 5 years of technical leadership experience managing engineering teams
- Strong expertise in microservices and distributed systems architecture
- Proficiency in Python, Docker, Kafka, and AWS services
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering talent
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
