EnergyHub is seeking a Director, Business Development to drive expansion into new, high-potential markets beyond its core offerings. This highly visible, pre-revenue role focuses on identifying emerging opportunities, validating business concepts, and building strategic partnerships that support long-term growth. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to turn early-stage ideas into scalable revenue streams within the utility and grid-edge technology landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with prospective customers, partners, and industry leaders to gather market intelligence
- Identify, shape, and prioritize new market opportunities aligned with company strengths
- Develop subject matter expertise in emerging grid and utility segments
- Validate business concepts by assessing product-market fit and commercial viability
- Define functional and market requirements in collaboration with Product and Marketing teams
- Build and manage a pipeline of early-stage opportunities, securing pilot customers and leading negotiations when required
Requirements:
- Proven ability to independently drive and close SaaS business opportunities
- Deep knowledge of grid and utility markets, including grid-edge technologies
- Experience developing RFIs, RFPs, pricing strategies, and delivery plans
- Strong negotiation and risk management skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in ambiguous environments
