The Developer Advocate engages and grows the technical community by creating educational content, supporting developers, and promoting best practices in metadata management and data engineering.

Job Description

 

DataHub is seeking a Developer Advocate to engage, educate, and empower its global developer community. This role bridges product, engineering, and the open-source ecosystem by translating complex metadata and data infrastructure concepts into accessible, high-impact technical content. The Developer Advocate will foster community engagement while advocating for developer needs within the organization.


Responsibilities:
- Engage actively within the DataHub Slack community, answering technical questions and fostering positive collaboration.
- Create technical content including blog posts, tutorials, videos, and documentation.
- Deliver presentations at conferences, webinars, and community events.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate technical features into clear educational resources.
- Develop and maintain sample projects and code to improve developer onboarding.
- Advocate for developer experience improvements based on community feedback.


Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Developer Advocate in metadata or open-source ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience using DataHub with expertise in data engineering and metadata management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality technical content.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects and engaging developer communities.
- Comfort presenting at public events and hosting workshops or webinars.
